As a commitment to environment stewardship, the Megawide Foundation joined the International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) last September 21, 2014 at Manila Bay Dolomite Beach, contributing to the world’s largest volunteer-driven ocean clean-up.
Over 60 Megawide volunteers from Corporate, EPC, PCS, PCS, and Citicore collected approximately 1,500 kilograms of waste, including plastic and discarded fishing gear, showcasing their commitment to coastal protection and enthusiasm for similar initiatives for the environment in the future.
Led by the DENR, ICC 2024 raised awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems, engaging over 74,000 volunteers across 250 coastal sites nationwide. The event allowed Megawide employees to actively support sustainability through proper waste management practices.
