From Empowering E-zine – Issue: Q3-Q4, 2024
On November 11, 2024, Megawide Foundation hosted its final CSR workshop for 2024 entitled, Agos at Lipad: Understanding Biodiversity afnd Ecosystems, at Santolan Town Plaza. Building on the previous nature trail experience, the session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of biodiversity, the threats it faces, and its impact on daily life, while inspiring action for environmental protection.
The session featured Mr. Justine De Ramos, the Coastal Resources and Foreshore Management Section Chief of DENR-NCR, who presented on the state of biodiversity in the country and its link to climate change. Mr. Chris Murphy Amparo, La Mesa Ecopark Operations Manager, discussed
the vital role of ecosystems and the need for collective action.
Megawide’s very own Atty. Bom Gomez, an avid birder and citizen scientist, shared his personal advocacy in an informative talk entitled “Uncovering the Importance of Bird Ecology and Biodiversity” where he emphasized the species’ role as indicators of environmental health and urged the CSR champions to protect our shared habitat for a sustainable future.
